Nagging lower back pain and how to ease it

About 10 years ago, a nagging lower back pain was my constant companion and absolutely stealing my joy. I was teaching lots of dance and Zumba but feeling so weak and achy.

But I decided it was time for a change. 💪 I started doing more Pilates and focusing more on strengthening my glutes, something I hadn't paid much attention to before. I started doing targeted glute exercises, like squats and lunges.

As my glutes got stronger, I noticed my lower back pain gradually fading away.

Strong glutes naturally encouraged me to stand taller and improve my posture, taking the strain off my lower back.

Tight hip flexors that often contributed to my back discomfort started loosening up as my glutes did more of the heavy lifting.

My hip mobility improved, reducing the need for my lower back to compensate during movements.

My glutes were finally taking on their fair share of the workload, meaning my lower back wasn't overworked anymore.

I still get aches and pains but regular exercise, Pilates and stretching really helps.

I'm sharing this because although I’m now a Pilates instructor, I’m not a super human! We all get tight bits, weak bits or overworked bits!
